Stress Management

Stress Management

When I was released from the hospital last year, I had a lot of trouble getting back into my normal sleep routine. I did some research and asked my oncologist whether it would be “OKAY” for me to try CBD Oil. He said yes! So I ordered some from an herbalist friend of mine. Honestly, I didn’t give it much time to see if it helped me get balanced out because it tasted like what I imagine old “bong water” would taste like. But I recently learned about Vitalibis CBD Oil which is extracted using short bursts of heat in a patent-pending method, and no solvents. Now that I am an Ambassador with the company (meaning I sell the products from my affiliate website) I have to be very careful even sharing my personal experiences as testimony for how well the product works, because doing so might be considered making a medical claim and one of the things that helps this company stand apart, is they follow the rules for marketing dietary supplements and do not make any implied medical claims. The thing about holistic medicine is, there is no one size fits all treatment. I might do well with CBD OIl to balance out my bodily functions and feelings, someone else might like an herbal tea, or perhaps a flower remedy! I put my herbal studies on hold when I learned my cancer had spread and I am just getting back into that again, but I wanted to share an Affiliate Link for the Herbal Academy, which is where I have been studying herbs and where people can learn how to care for themselves with herbs!

Aromatics International Essential Oil Collection

Right after my hospitalization from the adverse effects of immunotherapy treatment, I walked away from my essential oil hobby. I gave my website EssentialAromatherapy away to someone I knew would care for it and evolve it to their own special place online.  I gave away all my aromatherapy books, courses, and most of my essential oils to friends who I knew would appreciate them. I think without realizing it, I was preparing not to be here today.

But I am here and I am not done fighting to survive this cancer! In the cancer community, there is an acronym NED, for the health status “No Evidence of Disease“. Well, I still have cancer tumors in my liver, so I still have stage IV cancer, but what I also have is “No Expiration Date“!  So I coined term #NED2 to symbolize that!

When I first considered joining Vitalibis as a Brand Ambassador to sell CBD Oil products, part of the reason I took the leap and jumped right in, was the fact that the company also has a small selection of curated products which include essential oils from a brand with an exceptional reputation, Aromatics International.

“All of Aromatics International’s essential oils are either certified organic, wildcrafted, or organically crafted. “

Book Recommendation: Coping With Ocular Melanoma (OM) – A Toolbox

I just finished watching a Facebook LIVE video from the A Cure In Sight™ Eye Believe Patient Survivorship Seminar, which is taking place right now in Orlando, Florida (Nov. 28 – Dec. 2, 2018).

Here is a link to the video, but you do have to be logged into your Facebook account to view it I believe:

I learned so much from the author, Ziva (Anne) Osborn, that I wanted to link to her book, Coping With Ocular Melanoma (OM): A Toolbox, on Amazon**. Anne, as a teen grew up in the shadows of OM when her mother died of OM. Forty years later, she was diagnosed with OM, Class 2.

I have not read the book but it is definitely something on my Recommended list after listing to her speak!

Andalou Naturals SPF 30

PRODUCT REVIEW: Andalou Naturals, Beauty Balm, Brightening, Sheer Tint with SPF 30

One of the things I take seriously is using skincare which is as natural as possible. It’s really hard to find USDA Certified Organic makeup and skincare because our certification system does not allow for many of the functional ingredients which are allowed by other Organic standards. And for me function comes first!

About three years ago I discovered Andalou Naturals, Beauty Balm. Not only does it even out my skin tone without looking or feeling like a true “foundation”, it has a SPF of 30! I use the version called Brightening.

I avoid chemical sunscreens and was happy to find out the active ingredient is mineral based, Zinc Oxide 20%. Sunscreen is legally an over-the-counter (OTC) drug in the USA, so products which are marketed as sunscreens have to follow the FDA labeling regulations; the sunscreen ingredient is listed as the *active ingredient* just like other OTC medicines one might ingest.

In addition, the ingredients are 97% Nature Derived, Non GMO Project Verified and contain many from botanical sources which are good for the skin like vitamin C and fruit and herbal extracts. And no toxic synthetic fragrances!

You may be able to find this product at your local Health Food store or pharmacy.

iHerb is one of the companies in my Affiliate Network, so I checked their website and they carry the line at a better price than I paid at Whole Foods the last time I bought it!
